HAMMOND - The fall series of "Let's Talk: Art," sponsored jointly by Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts, the Hammond Regional Arts Center, and the Friends of Sims Library, continues on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m.

The free program will be held at the Hammond Regional Art Center, located at 217 E. Thomas St., across from the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Louisiana State University Art Professor Kelli Scott Kelley will speak on "Accalia and the Swamp Monster," an autobiographical fairy tale that sets the tone for a body of art work. The event is a discussion of work that includes 60 pieces of mixed-media narrative images.

Sims Library Director Eric Johnson said that instead of ordinary canvases, Kelley produced images on repurposed antique linens to signify ecological art-making and traditional women's crafts.
