Southeastern LSBDC to host email marketing class for businesses

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana
University will host a free event in Hammond designed to help businesses improve email
marketing.
The seminar, co-sponsored by Northshore SCORE, will be held on Tuesday, Aug.
14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center, located
at 1514 Martens Dr.
Titled “Power of the Inbox: Effective, Engaging Email Marketing,” the program will
feature Kim Walker of 5 Stones Media in Hammond.
“First impressions matter – how are you going with your emails? This seminar
will help you avoid common mistakes and maximize your emails for powerful impact,”
said SBDC Assistant Director Sandy Summers.
Summers said topics to be discussed include branding beyond the logo – how placement,
pictures and colors can reinforce recognition and engagement; readability – including
fonts, white space and single-column design; images – including sizing, placement,
links and more; sharability – easy tips to encourage more cross-platform engagement;
clear messaging – creating content messages that matter; effective calls to action
– creating calls to action that work and drive results; and list building – tips and
tricks to growing email lists.
“Join us for this fast, information-packed seminar loaded with tips, techniques
and tools to help you navigate the do’s and don’ts for your own email marketing,”
Summers said.
