HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana
University will host a free seminar in Livingston May 17 titled “Clarify Your Message
So Customers Will Listen: How the Power of Story Can Grow Your Business.”
Co-sponsored with the Livingston Parish Library and Dixie Business Center, the
seminar is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Livingston Parish Library main
branch, located at 20390 Iowa St. in Livingston. Kim Walker of 5 Stones Media will
serve as guest speaker.
“Most leaders, marketers, salespeople and managers are ignored. It’s not because
they aren’t smart, hard-working or likeable; it’s because they aren’t communicating
clearly,” said Assistant Director of the SBDC Sandy Summers. “5 Stones Media helps
companies understand what customers are looking for so they can tell their story in
such a way that people listen.”
Summers added that the human brain is drawn toward clarity and away from confusion.
“If customers are confused about what you offer, they’ll look past you for somebody
who can say it clearly,” she said. “Once you clarify your message, your company will
begin to grow.”
Although the seminar is free, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered attendees.
