We understand that pursuing academic success, choosing a major, and thinking about a future career can be exciting and intimidating at the same time. Our Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Coaches are here to provide support and guidance for Southeastern students. 

As you experience challenging transitions and difficulties during your academic journey, we offer the following support to third-semester freshmen through seniors.

• Academic exploration (active learning strategies, time management, overcoming obstacles, growth mindset, etc.)
• Major/career exploration (guided tour of major options, self-assessments, and additional resources)
• Academic checkpoints throughout the semester
• Referrals to academic departments and additional on-campus resources as needed

Featured Class:

SE 1030 (1 credit hour, graded): Meets in person 2 days a week for 1 hr & 15 mins each day. Departmental permission and a pre-meeting with an ACE Coach are required prior to enrollment

SE 1030 classes, taught by ACE Coaches, are for students who are on (or nearing) academic probation and in need of academic support.  The focus is on the development of active learning strategies, improved time management, increasing self-awareness, growth mindset, problem-solving, and accountability, with peer/instructor encouragement.

Undergraduate students who are interested and ready to make changes toward their academic progress should contact the Instructor of the section in which they’d like to enroll to schedule a pre-meeting.

Note: SE 1030 does not take the place of SE 1010 or SE 1020 for beginning Freshmen.
