Message From the Interim Provost

Interim Director - Center for Student Excellence

The Center for Student Excellence will have a new leader.

Dr. Lorett Swank will become the Interim Director of the Center for Student Excellence (CSE) in January, 2017, upon the retirement of Dr. Dorothy Nelson.

Currently an instructor in the General Studies Program, Dr. Swank holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Research and Counseling and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition to her twelve years of teaching and advising experience, Dr. Swank has over 20 years of experience with non-profit and governmental organizations where she coordinated, managed and directed programs, people and special projects.  Dr. Swank will lead efforts to increase the impact of the CSE on freshman retention and explore increased services for at-risk and transfer students.

My sincere thanks and admiration are extended to Dr. Nelson for her steadfast commitment to our university, our students and to the Center for Student Excellence.  She is truly one of Southeastern's finest.
