Employment Application (Tutors & Embedded Tutors)

The Tinsley Learning Center (TLC) offers a variety of educational resources to the Southeastern student. Some of these resources are Embedded Tutoring, Traditional Tutoring, and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS).

Embedded Tutoring (ET) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. ET sessions are regularly scheduled, out-of-class review sessions for all students enrolled in a targeted course. The Embedded Tutor attends class sessions of the targeted class. He/She then host informal tutoring sessions outside of class in which students review the class’s content as a group.

The tutors at the TLC assist students in a variety of courses through traditional tutoring services or Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS). Students sign up for traditional tutoring in problem based courses such as chemistry, math and physics. PASS sessions are geared to assist our clients in content mastery through active learning strategies utilized in their PASS.
