Mission Statement

The mission of the Turtle Cove Environmental Research Station is to facilitate and support a better understanding of Southeast Louisiana’s coastal wetland environments through research, education, and public outreach activities and programs for Southeastern students, faculty and staff as well as the greater University community.

Field Trip Information

Hurricane Ida renovations to the main Turtle Cove Guest House on Pass Manchac are complete but the boardwalk is closed until further notice. 

Fall 2025 Field Trip Schedule

Single groups (up to 30 people): Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Double groups (up to 60 people): Fridays from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Giving Day 2025 is on Wednesday, September 17! This year, we want to continue raising funds for a brand new solar system at our Turtle Cove facility on Pass Manchac. Hurricane Ida renovations are nearly complete and now would be a great time to begin this project. Please consider helping us make Turtle Cove more sustainable than ever!
