Academic Advising
Explore this section
All nursing majors who have completed at least 30 credit hours are assigned a School of Nursing faculty advisor who will remain with them throughout the duration of the program.
Students can locate their assigned advisor under the Advisors/Support tab in their Workday profile.
School of Nursing faculty are located on both the Hammond campus and the Baton Rouge Center. Students are encouraged to establish communication with their assigned advisor, either in person or remotely, as needed. Faculty advisors will initiate contact with advisees via university email each semester prior to the priority registration period.
All Southeastern Louisiana University students must complete advising each semester to have their registration hold removed. Approximately one month prior to registration, students will receive instructions on submitting their Academic Plan in Workday – the first step in the advising process. Additional information is available on the Workday Student Resources website. Unless specific questions or concerns arise, a formal advising meeting is not required once the Academic Plan has been submitted and approved.
Students without an assigned advisor should contact the School of Nursing at [email protected]
Students are expected to monitor their university email regularly and review program requirements in the official University Course Catalog.
Transfer students: All transfer students must receive initial advising with the transfer advisor, Mrs. Felicia Murret ([email protected]).
Accelerated Nursing Program: Students with previous degrees interested in applying for the accelerated nursing program should contact the accelerated nursing advisor, Dr. Jamie Davis ([email protected]).
