How quickly can I complete the RN to BSN program?

It can be completed in as little as one year as a full-time student. You have a maximum
of three years to complete the program without paying any additional fees.

Do I ever have to come to campus?

No. You have the freedom to complete the program 100% online. 

Will there be any group projects?

No. All work is completed individually.

Can I earn my BSN while working full-time?

Yes. You are able to be self-directed and set your own goals as a working professional.

Do all my prerequisites need to be completed before I start the RN to BSN program?


Can I receive transfer credit for prerequisites?

Yes. The 59 hours of PREREQUISITES and the 30 hours of NURSING BLOCK CREDIT must be
approved by the Office of the Registrar.

What is Block Credit?

A transfer of credit hours in which a predetermined number of transfer credits are
permitted to be used in the program. Block Credit facilitates the transfer of credit
at the program level rather that at the specific course level; the credit is recognized
as having an academic wholeness and satisfies a part of the BSN requirements.

Is the program accredited?

Yes. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice
program at Southeastern Louisiana University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate
Nursing Education (

What if my previous nursing program was not accredited?

Individuals with an ADN or diploma from institutions that are NOT ACEN or CNEA accredited
are NOT eligible for enrollment in the RN to BSN Program.
