Academic & Career Exploration

Welcome, Lions!

We understand that choosing a major and thinking about a future career can be exciting and scary at the same time. The mission of our Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Coaches is to provide support and guidance for Southeastern students who are no longer served by their SE 101 Advisors.
(We currently serve 3rd semester freshmen - seniors)

As you experience transitions during your academic journey, we would love to offer our support.

Some of the services offered to our students include:

  • Access to major/career coaching, information, assessments, and resources

  • Academic coaching (goal setting, time management, study strategies, grit, etc.)

  • Academic checkpoints throughout the semester

  • Referrals to academic departments and on campus resources

Find the support you need with ACE and SE 102Featured Class:

SE 102 (1 credit hour)
Meets in person 2 days a week for 1 hr & 15 mins each day

SE 102 classes, taught by ACE Coaches, are for students who are on (or nearing) academic probation and in need of academic support.  Focus is on sharing academic successes and obstacles, encouragement, and accountability while being guided by the instructor.

ACE’s SE 102 class has four different offerings open to undergraduate students who are committed to working toward their own academic progress.

For Students in Housing and are on probation
(MW 2-3:15pm Contact

For Students on probation - primarily Business majors

For Students on Academic Warning (GPA 2.0 - 2.5)

For Students who are on probation with their student organization

Clarification:
Our class would not take the place of any current 1st semester freshman taking a SE 102 this semester. They would still take SE 102 with a Freshman Success advisor in the Spring.

If you have a GPA below a 2.8 and want to take the class, but you don't think you fit into any particular category of classes offered, please email bbergeron@southeastern.edu, provide your name, w#, and request to discuss possible options.
