Academic & Career Exploration

Welcome, Lions!

We understand that academic success, choosing a major,  and thinking about a future career can be exciting and scary at the same time. Our Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Coaches are here to provide support and guidance for Southeastern students who are no longer served by their SE 101/102 Advisors.
(We currently serve 3rd semester freshmen - seniors)

As you experience transitions during your academic journey, we would love to offer our support.

Some of the services offered to our students include:

  • Academic exploration (goal setting, time management, study strategies, grit, etc.)
  • Access to major/career exploration (information, assessments, and resources)
  • Academic checkpoints throughout the semester
  • Referrals to academic departments and on campus resources

SE 1030 (1 credit hour)
Meets in person 2 days a week for 1 hr & 15 mins each day

SE 1030 classes, taught by ACE Coaches, are for students who are on (or nearing) academic probation and in need of academic support.  Focus is on sharing academic successes and obstacles, encouragement, and accountability while being guided by the instructor.

ACE’s SE 1030 class has different offerings open to undergraduate students who are committed to working toward their own academic progress.

Clarification:
Our class would not take the place of any current 1st semester freshman taking a SE 1020 this semester. They would still take SE 1020 with a Freshman Success advisor the following semester. Students who took SE 1020 for two semesters and still want more academic support with GPA recovery, can take our SE 1030 class.

If you don't think you fit into any particular category of classes offered, please email ace@southeastern.edu, provide your name, w#, and request to discuss possible options.
