Katie Wainwright Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by her family and friends and provides financial assistance to a deserving Southeastern student majoring in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. While raising five children and establishing a real estate agency, Katie also earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Southeastern. She was a longtime newspaper columnist,  for the Hammond Daily Star and  for the Hammond Sun. Upon her retirement in 2002, she directed her efforts toward fiction writing, penning Cuba on My Mind, Sequestro, The Azaleas, Pohainake Parish, and her favorite, the children's book, A Camel Named Clyde. An avid patron of the arts and a recipient of the Annie Award for faithful service to the community presented by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. 

Sarah Dosher Waters Scholarship in Accounting 
The scholarship was established by her daughter, Cindy Albright. Sarah was a 1946 Southeastern grad. Cindy retired from teaching Physical Education (Special Needs)from Arkansas State.  The scholarship will provide assistance to an Accounting major of Junior or Senior standing who is also a graduate of a Louisiana High School. 

Kathleen Watkins Endowed Scholarship 

The Wegmann-Dazet and Company Endowed Scholarship in Accounting 
The scholarship was established by the accounting firm to support Southeastern students and advance the profession.  A number of Southeastern accounting grads work for the company.  The scholarship will provide financial assistance to an outstanding Junior or Senior Accounting major.      

Clifford West Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by H.Boone Kenyon, and his wife Debbie, mother of Cliff, in his memory.   Cliff was a student best remembered for his athletic prowess in floor hockey tournaments and other intramural sports at southeastern. The scholarship is for a student who as a Freshman has participated in intramural sports either as a player, referee, judge on other supportive role for the program. 

Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with a contribution from the Weyerhauser Company Foundation.  At the time the scholarship was established the Weyerhauser Company owned and managed more than 660,000 acres of commercial forest lands in South Mississippi and Southeast Louisiana. It provides tuition assistance to a student from Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, Livingston or Washington parish.

Elizabeth Albert Wharton Endowed Scholarship in the Visual Arts 
The scholarship was  established by the Wharton family in loving memory of Libby “Mimi” Wharton who was a working artist and private art teacher. The scholarship is intended to provide financial support to a deserving female Southeastern student majoring in art.

Archie H. & Vallie Tinsley White First Generation Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with funds provided by Jim Karl and named for the parents of his wife, southeastern graduate, Dianna Karl ‘52. It supports a first generation student. A portion of the funds for this scholarship were provided by a match from the Louisiana State Board of Regents.

Sylvia Majesty Whitson Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Sylvia's husband of 47 years, Dickie Whitson ‘71. Sylvia was President of the Louisiana Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and mentored many women with the diagnosis for over 20 years, showing them, by her example, how to fully live every day of their lives. Dicky established the scholarship to honor their lives together and her memory.  The scholarship supports a student from St. Bernard parish.

Shirley Wiginton Endowment for Columbia Theatre Programming 
The endowment was established by Shirley and her husband Louis to lend support to bringing quality arts programming to the citizens of Hammond and the entire Northshore.

Dr. James Wilcox Memorial Award in Music 
The scholarship was established by Dr. Wilcox and his wife, Marie. Dr. Wilcox began his career at Southeastern in 1946 and in 1964 became the second head of the Department of Music. He was later appointed Dean of the College of Humanities at Southeastern. A talented hornist, teacher, administrator, conductor, and author, Dr. Wilcox was awarded the titles Professor Emeritus of Music and Dean Emeritus of the College of Humanities in recognition of his many years of service and leadership. The scholarship provides financial support to a graduating senior majoring in Music.

Audrey & Pete Williams Field Education Endowment Scholarship
The scholarship was established by their daughter, Sherry Williams- Jenkins ‘82,  to honor her parents, as her mother was instrumental in setting up Adult Protective Services in Louisiana. The Scholarship will benefit a social work major during their internship semester. 

Dr. Dale Williams Endowed Scholarship in Athletics (Football) - Dale Williams, class of 1962, was spotted in his small hometown by a traveling “blue jean salesman” and recruited to play college football at Southeastern. He played ball for four years and earned his BS in mathematics. Dale and his wife Judith established this scholarship for a student who is a member of the University's intercollegiate football team. 

Dr. O. Dale Williams Endowed Scholarship in Mathematics - Dale Williams earned his BS in mathematics in 1962. He then went on to obtain a Master of Public Health and a doctorate in biostatistics from University of North Carolina. Dale and his wife Judith established this scholarship for a student who is studying mathematics and has at least 30 hours toward their degree. 

Hollis "Roomie" Wilson Endowed Scholarship in Biological Sciences and Research
The Hollis “Roomie” Wilson Endowed Scholarship in Biological Sciences and Research was established by his daughter, Jane Wilson Alldredge. The scholarship honors beloved faculty member, Roomie Wilson, who is remembered for his passion for his students, the field of biology and the great outdoors.  The scholarship is for a student who shares that love and passion and who is engaged in research. 

Phillip Wolter Family Endowment Fund for Nursing
The scholarship was endowed through a gift from family who are friends of the University and who wish to remain anonymous. They wanted to establish a scholarship that would benefit a Nursing major in need who is active in campus and community activities.

James Winter Scholarship in Theatre
Dr. James “Jim” Winter established the scholarship for a student who is active in the Southeastern Theatre program.  Jim taught Acting and Theatre History at Southeastern and served as faculty advisor for Southeastern's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honor society. He is also a professional actor, director, playwright, and producer. Winter is also the creator of Southeastern's annual Theatre Study Abroad program in London, England. Winter has authored three theatre textbooks and a workbook, the royalties from which help fund the scholarship. Jim recently became the Artistic Director of Southeastern’s  Columbia Theatre for Performing Arts.

Wittie-Guagliardo Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship was established by Keith and Linda Wittie ‘91, to benefit a manager of the Southeastern Men’s Basketball Team. Keith and Linda have long supported High School and Southeastern basketball teams and in recent years have hosted the Southeastern Lions men’s basketball radio shows at their business, Rainbow Daiquiris in Hammond.

Bobby and Marsha Yarborough Endowed Scholarship in Business  
Bobby Yarborough ‘76 is an owner of his family owned business, Manda’s Fine Meats in Baton Rouge. He majored in Marketing while attending Southeastern and besides being a successful businessman, has been very involved in civic and philanthropic endeavors in Baton Rouge. In 2017, he was recognized at a Distinguished Alumnus of the College of Business. The scholarship benefits a student majoring in Business.
