Service-Learning

Service-learning opportunities are available to teacher candidates throughout their
degree programs.   Providing “real world” experiences through service to our communities
while learning content-specific knowledge, skills and dispositions, prepares candidates
through authentic learning opportunities.  Our teacher candidates have the opportunity
to serve as well as learn through service-learning.   Faculty use the pedagogy of
service-learning to prepare Southeastern students to be real world ready!

The Department of Teaching and Learning has numerous, current service-learning projects
as well as service-learning projects previously funded through grants.  The following
were service-learning projects Southeastern students participated in following Hurricane
