Common Login Error Messages

If you are having trouble accessing the library databases or electronic reserves, please use the following list of common error messages to troubleshoot your problem.

Did you use your Southeastern User ID or W number and 6-digit birthdate to log in?

Try closing your browser and logging in again.

If your User ID or W number and birthdate still don’t allow you to access the resource, contact the Circulation Desk at 985-549-3968 or [email protected] for verification of your User ID or W number and birthdate in our user records.

Have you previously left Southeastern and returned?

Your information may not have been updated in our user records. Contact the Circulation Desk at 985-549-3968 or [email protected] for verification of your status in our user records.

To view electronic resources in our indexes or databases, you must be

  • a current Southeastern student, staff, or faculty member OR
  • a Dual Enrollment student or facilitator.
  1. Use your Southeastern User ID or W number and your 6-digit birthdate in MMDDYY format.
  2. If your User ID or W number and birthdate still don’t allow you to access the material, contact the Circulation Desk at 985-549-3968 or [email protected] for verification of your User ID or W number and birthdate in our user records.

If you are Alumni, a Friend of the Library, or a special user, our databases are available to you when you visit the Library in person.

Are you connecting to the database from the Sims Library website?

Start at the library databases web page in order to access databases from off-campus.

You might be trying to access via a different library from a Google search, or there might be a problem with an old URL.
