MISA Programming Council

Purpose

The purpose of the Multicultural and International Student Affairs (MISA) Programming Council is to develop real world ready leaders through education, team building and intentional programming. The MISA Programming Council (MPC) is composed of student representatives from multicultural, international and inclusive focused student organizations that support the mission, values, programs and outreach efforts of the Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs.

 

Vision

The vision of MPC is to promote diversity and inclusion on campus through special events, programs and activities. The council will serve as the pulse for Multicultural and International students where they will envision, develop, implement, execute and assess effective concepts for the university. Signature events coordinated by the MPC are including but not limited to Silent Disco, MISA Happy Hour, MISA Retreat, Courageous Conversations, and Block Party.

 

Mission

The mission of MPC is to be a programming entity of the Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs. It seeks to provide cultural, social and educational programming, activities and events that enhances multicultural awareness and promotes diversity on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University

 

The Goals of MPC:

  • Strengthen intercultural connections and collaborations between multicultural registered student organizations.
  • Increase the level of support at MISA sponsored events, and at multicultural registered student organizations sponsored events.
  • To assist in building unity amongst the multicultural registered student organizations at SLU.

MISA envisions students involved in the MPC to be ambassadors who are positive, outgoing, creative and enthusiastic students who will heighten the importance of cultural awareness on our campus and increase participation of such programming.
