Objective
The Multicultural Leadership Council aims to cultivate leaders prepared for the real
world through educational initiatives, team-building activities, and purposeful programming.
Comprising representatives from multicultural, international, and inclusive student
organizations, the MISA Leadership Council aligns with the mission, values, programs,
and outreach endeavors of the Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs.

Vision
Our vision for the MLC is to advance diversity and inclusion on campus by organizing
special events, programs, and activities. Serving as the heartbeat for multicultural
and international students, the council empowers them to conceive, develop, implement,
execute, and evaluate impactful concepts for the university. Notable MLC-coordinated
events include the Fall Carnival, Winter and Spring Banquet, Courageous Conversations,
and Block Party.

Mission
The MLC functions as a programming arm of the Office of Multicultural and International
Student Affairs, dedicated to delivering cultural, social, and educational programming
that fosters multicultural awareness and advocates for diversity on Southeastern Louisiana
University’s campus.

Goals
1. Foster stronger intercultural connections and collaborations among registered multicultural
student organizations.
2. Elevate support levels at both MISA-sponsored events and events hosted by registered
multicultural student organizations.
3. Contribute to the unity of multicultural registered student organizations at SLU.
4. Envision MLC-involved students as ambassadors who embody positivity, outgoingness,
creativity, and enthusiasm, amplifying the significance of cultural awareness and
encouraging greater participation in related programming.
