Southeast Louisiana Historical Association

 

The Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies remains proud of its affiliation with the Southeast Louisiana Historical Association.The SLHA is a town and gown organization which encourages scholarly discourse and promotes the study and history of Southeast Louisiana.

The SLHA sponsors an annual meeting that features prominent individuals and historians. Each meeting includes a dinner/social and a lecture/presentation of historical or cultural significance.  In the organization's many years of service, SLHA has enjoyed presentations by prominent speakers such as Governor John Bel Edwards, Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne, and former member of President Jimmy Carter's administration, Hodding Carter.

The Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies helps to organize and underwrite this important local historical association. New and renewed membership in the Southeast Louisiana Historical Association remains $25 for individual members.
