Orientation

We are so glad you have chosen Southeastern as your new home! We are here to do our best to make sure your first year at Southeastern is even better than you imagined, and that starts with Orientation.

Orientation is an experience full of programs and activities to prepare you for life as a Southeastern student. It’s the time to learn even more about important campus resources and opportunities available to enhance your college experience.

Your Checklist

STEP 1: Ensure your application is complete

Submit Immunization Records

To be fully admitted, Southeastern needs to have proof of your appropriate immunizations.  The Immunization Form can be found here. Please submit your records to us via email at admissions@southeastern.edu or fax to 985.549.5882.

STEP 2: Apply for Housing

Did you know that students that live on campus have higher overall GPAs and graduate at a higher rate?  Our residence halls fill up fast so please apply for housing now!

STEP 3: Complete the FAFSA

To apply for TOPS or any need-based financial aid you will need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  Visit the Financial Aid website for more information and to start the process.  The FAFSA can be filled out after January 1.

STEP 4: Register for Orientation

Now that you have been fully admitted to Southeastern, you will need to check your email for your Orientation invitation. Invitations to Orientation are emailed as soon as you are fully admitted to Southeastern; be sure your immunization records are submitted. Orientation Information

STEP 5: Ensure Final Transcripts are Submitted

Louisiana Students
Southeastern can access in-state transcripts through the Louisiana Department of Education. If a paper transcript is needed, you will be contacted directly.

Non-Louisiana Students
Ask your high school counselor to send your transcript:

  • Fax to (985)549-5882
  • Email to admissiondocs@southeastern.edu
  • Mail an official transcript in a sealed envelope

However, please check your LEONET account to ensure that we do have them.  We must have official transcripts from high school, dual enrollment or any college or university you may have attended. If you have completed dual enrollment, be sure to contact that specific institution to have them officially send your transcripts to Southeastern.

STEP 6: Complete Registration

Once you have attended Orientation and registered your classes, your next step will be to complete your registration process.  Fee bills will be issued close to the beginning of the semester. Please check your LEONET account to check your balance and to ensure your fee bill is paid on time.
