HAMMOND – In an effort to reduce costs and increase efficiency, all employees at Southeastern Louisiana University will have the option this year to receive their W-2 tax form in an electronic format.

The federal tax form is used in reporting an individual's compensation from his or her employer and is required in filing federal and state income taxes.

"This is a new option being offered through our PeopleSoft financial system. It allows employees to print as many copies as they may need and to receive their information faster than waiting for mail delivery," said Sam Domiano, interim vice president for administration and finance.

The electronic delivery of W-2s increases efficiencies and also saves the university in printing and postage costs, Domiano said.

For employees not choosing the electronic option, W-2 forms will be mailed on Jan. 31.
