Seminar on employment law, unemployment insurance scheduled in Slidell

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, in cooperation with the Louisiana Workforce Commission and the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, will conduct a seminar for businesses on employment law and unemployment insurance in Slidell on Thursday, Feb. 6.

The free program, sponsored by HLM Investigative Services and Background Screenings, will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium, 2056 Second Street.

Sandy Summers, assistant director of Southeastern's LSBDC, said the program is designed to help businesses save money, deal with routine workforce challenges, and answer questions to enhance business operations.

Presenters include Rob Roux, attorney with the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and Stephen Harris, employer outreach liaison for the LWC Office of Unemployment Insurance Administration.

Area business owners, managers, supervisors and human resources professionals are invited to attend the program.
