Accepted Student Checklist

Welcome to the family!

Your next steps now that you are accepted:

STEP 1: Ensure your application is complete

Submit Immunization Records

To be fully admitted, Southeastern needs to have proof of your appropriate immunizations.  The Immunization Form can be found here. Please submit your records to us via email at admissions@southeastern.edu or fax to 985.549.5882.

STEP 2: Apply for Housing

Did you know that students that live on campus have higher overall GPAs and graduate at a higher rate?  Our residence halls fill up fast so please apply for housing now!

STEP 3: Complete the FAFSA

To apply for TOPS or any need-based financial aid you will need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  Visit the Financial Aid website for more information and to start the process.  The FAFSA can be filled out after January 1.

STEP 4: Register for Orientation/Enroll in classes

(Less than 30 Credit Hours)

Orientation is fun, informative and necessary (if you have less than 30 credit hours)! Now that you are admitted, your next step is to register for orientation. Prepare for your upcoming year, meet new classmates and learn about services and programs available to students.  Orientation information and invitations will be sent out late in the fall for students starting in the spring and during the spring for students starting fall 2019. Be on the lookout for your invitation!  Orientation Information.
Those students who have already completed Orientation, but still have less than 30 credit hours will need to be advised by our Center for Student Excellence.

(More than 30 Credit Hours)

If you have more than 30 credit hours, you will need to be advised by the department of your major before enrolling into classes. To check your enrollment date, visit your LEONet account using the self-service tool. If you have additional questions regarding degree options, advising, and other campus resources, please feel free to reach out the Transfer Student Coordinator for assistance.

STEP 5: Ensure Final College Transcripts are Submitted

In addition, please verify that your Final College Transcripts have also been submitted via your LEONet ToDo List. We must have official transcripts from high school, dual enrollment or any college or university you may have attended.

STEP 6: Complete Registration

Once you have attended orientation and registered, your next step will be to complete your registration process. Fee bills will be issued close to the beginning of the semester. Please check your LEONET account to ensure your fee bill is paid on time.
